Deep Throat

One of the initial requirements for a television reporter, you would think, is that they have a voice.

That's why I was puzzled by the appearance of Terri Seymour as a reporter on "Extra," the TV celebrity gossip show.

She's a cute little skinny British thing, but she sounds as if she has a throat full of shattered glass. Listen to her for more than thirty seconds and guaranteed you will start clearing your throat or gargling.

I suppose she got her job because she is Simon Cowell's girlfriend. She certainly didn't get it because she's a performer at the Old Vic.
