Magically Delicious?

I've always felt sorry for the Washington Nationals, what with them having the worst record in Major League Baseball and all. Yesterday they signed college pitcher, Stephen Strasburg, to a $15.1 million deal over 4 years with a $7.5 million signing bonus.

He has a 103 mph fastball and strikes out a lot of batters in every game, but bear in mind those are college statistics and things can change pretty fast in the majors.

Where the hell did the Nationals get that kind of moolah? Couldn't they have bought themselves another player or two?

Well, Steve, good luck with this baseball thing. If it doesn't work out, you can perhaps grace a box of Lucky Charms.

Worst Team in MLB Wins

It was hard not to root for the Washington Nationals last night as they played at Yankee Stadium. Their pitcher, John Lannan, hails from Long Beach, Lawn Gyland, NY and he threw a fantastic game. He definitely deserved the win.

Now, should the Yankees acquire him he probably wouldn't be able to find the plate without a flashlight and a map, but that's another story for another time.

Chien-Ming Wang wasn't fantastic, but he was better than horrible which is what he has been this season.

In any event, Lannan grew up rooting for the Yankees and last night he shut them down. Nice going, John.
