These images were culled from the Anthropologie website.
The jeans pictured were on sale for less than their usual selling price and could be snatched up for about $223.
You may think that's ridiculous and you would be right. "Over $200 for ripped up jeans?! And people will pay that?!"
These aren't 'ripped up' jeans but rather 'destroyed' jeans. There's a difference of about $200.
This is a modern day telling of the Hans Christian Andersen tale, "The Emperor's New Clothes." You know, where the emperor was quite the clothes horse and his tailor was getting worn out (not unlike these jeans) trying to create new ensembles for him. You've seen "Project Runway" so you have an idea of what we mean.
So the tailor told the emperor he had made him an invisible suit of clothes which wasn't really that at all. It was actually nothing. Only one small child in the crowd had the nerve to yell out, "The king isn't wearing any clothes at all!"
Now as for the chair, we have no similar story in our book of fairy tales, unless it's the throne upon which the naked emperor sat.
