Since Pope Benedict XVI is abdicating his throne effective tomorrow, the cardinals will be adjourning to select his successor. That includes Cardinal Roger M. Mahony late of Los Angeles, who got tossed from his post for covering up priestly pedophilia.
Many victims of sexual abuse are protesting his inclusion, but the story is, if they start excluding cardinals who were part of the church wide cover up, there won't be anyone left to vote. They've got a point.
One dude who will definitely not have a vote is British Cardinal Keith O'Brien who abruptly left his post this week amid allegations that he made sexual advances to three priests and one former priest while he was their boss.
Meanwhile, the outgoing pope is trading in his red Prada shoes for a pair of handmade brown loafers. He will, however, continue wearing white dresses.
