Snow Blind

Last weekend five people died while climbing Mt. Everest and this weekend doesn't look to be much better since at least 150 people will be attempting to reach the summit.

Evidently the queue to scale the world's highest mountain is akin to that outside every movie theatre showing "The Avengers," and bear in mind a ticket to the summit will cost you quite a bit more than a movie ticket.  Even the cheap trips to the top cost at least $25K and there's no guarantee you'll make it back alive.

Part of the problem is that there's not enough oxygen towards the apex of Everest and there's a lot of snow and ice which makes it slippery, thus increasing the odds that you'll fall and break your neck or crack your skull.  Oh, and there can be bad weather too which doesn't help.

Some people just won't die happy till they make it to the top of Everest.  Some will just die.
