Hmmmm ... where does one begin?
Jessica Ockman, 33, was arrested for leaving her twenty-month-old son alone in a car at a gas station while she was passed out in the restroom.
Now that could happen to just about anyone, agreed? A few too many Oxys or beers and we all might be snoozing in some random gas station pee hole.
And if we're going to be technical, we must add that the toddler wasn't actually alone in the car, but he was the only thing in it that had a pulse. The twenty-two-year-old woman behind the wheel was dead. Police do not think foul play was involved, apparently meaning the kid is not being charged in her death.
This took place in Metairie, Louisiana over the weekend, because that is the party town in the Deep South. Ockman was released after her arrest because the jail is overcrowded.
One can only wonder what the other prisoners were being held for if their offenses were worse than this.
