Here we go again - another evangelist in the slammer for all sorts of misdeeds.
Take Tony Alamo, pictured above, no doubt squinting to see where his underage brides might be.
I'm happy to report that even in Texarkana, Arkansas they take a dim view of transporting underage girls across state borders for sex. Mr. Alamo has been sentenced to 175 years in prison.
One of his victims accused him of taking her as his 'child bride' when she was eight years old.
Chances are good that the 75-year-old Alamo won't live to serve his entire sentence especially if the prison population gets hold of him.
Interestingly enough, even though he said his accusers were lying, his defense only offered a doctor who said he suffered from hardening arteries, diabetes, glaucoma and other health problems. However on cross-examination the doctor acknowledged he saw Alamo only once in 2004 and that the purpose of Alamo's visit was to get an eye lift to make him appear younger.
