Sometimes it's fun to revisit a story and I think this is one of those times.
The man above, John Brek, isn't getting his own reality television show (that's probably in the offing however); he's being arraigned for making terroristic threats against the President. You may recall he was arrested in October when looking for a way to shoot President Obama through the chain link fence at Newark Liberty Airport where he works.
The police found 43 guns in his home (where he lives with his father ~ probably in the basement and probably amid a lot of video games) but only one was unregistered! That may be some new record: most registered, fewest unregistered. Ah, Americans love them some firearms!
Brek was talking crazy to his fellow employees about shooting the prez; they were so alarmed they contacted the authorities. Figure these are folks who knew Mr. Brek quite well, working side by side with him every day for quite some time. I don't think they would have panicked had they not believed Brek could do some nasty things with his arsenal.
Therefore I don't quite agree with his attorney who said today: "This is an absolutely outrageous case. He should have never been arrested. He should have never been charged.”
Well Mr. Brek copped a plea as it were and admitted he had made statements to two employees that there were security flaws in the fence around the area where President Obama was set to disembark. Brek didn't admit to making threats against Obama.
Maybe you're relieved to know Brek will be released from jail on Thursday. I, however, am not.

It's not a wonder you are not happy about the release of this man. Every single one of the "facts" you stated are false. If I believed the facts to be as such, I would not be happy either. Do some homework and have it verified before putting it in ink.
I stand corrected. It was a Continental Airlines employee who heard the threat about Brek cutting a hole in the fence so he could shoot Obama, not one of his colleagues. This was not what was originally reported, however.
Nor were the guns found in his fathers home. Nor does he live in his fathers home. Nor was he talking about cutting a whole, but the security breech because of the existing hole. and on and on and on. Again, incorrect "facts". Correct facts are very important when they affect the outcome of someone's life. Assumptions such as basement living and crazy video games should be kept in the minds of those who know about such things. Everyone has an opinion (with or without the facts) and you know what they say about those.
Mr. or Ms. Anonymous, the information I've gotten about this case came from the mainstream media. If their reporting has been incorrect, your issue is with them, not me.
As this is my blog, I am allowed to embellish and express my opinion as are you. This blog is, in fact, 'my mind.'
Thank you for taking the time to visit. Perhaps there are other entries that would be more to your liking.
