Creativity is not dead.
Thomas Parkin wanted to collect his deceased mother's government benefits so he dressed up like her when it was time for her to renew her New York State driver's license. And he got nailed.
Since her death in 2003 he's been collecting her Social Security benefits to the tune of $52,000 and he also received $65,000 in rent subsidies.
District Attorney Charles Hynes said the scam was "unparalleled in its scope and brazenness."
Parkin and an accomplice are being held on $1 million bail. Frankly, I admire his balls. Or lack of.
