Wow! You can't believe how many laws this 24-year-old teacher broke! Guess you can't leave Massachusetts with a 15-year-old student, take him to West Virginia and shack up in a motel with him.
Lisa Lavoie, looking lovely in her mug shot, is being held without bail in West Virginia because in that state kidnapping can be rewarded with a life sentence.
In Massachusetts, she faces a charge of enticing a child under 16 (including a statutory rape charge) and authorities in West Virginia plan to charge her as a fugitive from justice.
Lavoie had been teaching for a scant five months. The boy's mother had contacted Maurice Donahue Elementary School saying she was concerned about the relationship between her son and an eighth-grade teacher. Three days later, they went missing.
Isn't 15 a little old for eighth grade? Just asking.
In any event, you'll be happy to know when they found them the boy showed no signs of having been abused.

My son is 15, and he is a sophomore.
And he is YOUNG for his grade, as most 10th graders are 16.
So yeah, the boy was not too bright, which makes the crime even worse, in my opinion.
