For some reason I don't really comprehend, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi met with Pope Benedict XVI during a trip to Italy.Was it just to allow the pope the chance to levy some innuendo (you know, the Italian suppository) regarding Pelosi's claim to be an ardent Catholic and also supporter of abortion rights?
Reportedly the Pope spoke in thinly veiled references to abortion saying that Catholic politicians have a duty to protect life "at all stages of its development."
This from the papacy that supports an archbishop who denies the holocaust ever occurred.
These are the United States not the Papal States. Thank God.
