As I wrote this title I wondered, do television sets actually have tubes anymore or are they filled with microchips?
Anyway, in case you haven't had time to keep up with the goings on in the broadcast world, allow me to give you the inside dope.

T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl will be leaving "Grey's Anatomy." She plays Izzy and he plays someone else. In real life they are asshole buddies. He's gay and she likes to defend him from homophobes like Isaiah Washington. She's been in such stellar films as "27 Dresses" and "Knocked Up" so obviously that Oscar winning movie is just around the corner.

Am I the only one who thinks Nicolette Sheridan was born a man? News is that she's leaving "Desperate Housewives." I always forgot that she was even on the show, not that I watch it. The focus always seems to be on Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross and whoever else is a desperate housewife.

In case you forgot, the 8th season of American Idol has started. Joanna Pacitti has been disqualified, but they're not saying why. She made it into the top 36 contestants which was broadcast last night. Have no fear, there are plenty of annoying people vying for the title of American Idol.
Apparently before Joaquin Phoenix quit the movie biz to become a rapper, he made a movie with Gwyneth Paltrow, perhaps the most irritating winner of the Best Actress Oscar besides Halle Berry. The film, entitled "Two Lovers" is due out and I guess Joaquin has a contract clause that forces him to make the rounds of talk shows, but he does not have to actually talk.
He appeared with David Letterman last night dressed like a homeless Blues Brother, speaking in monosyllables. Dave made the best of it.
That should catch you up so that you can use your time more productively.

Check out the Letterman/Phoenix interview on Youtube.
Best line, "Joaquin, I'm sorry you couldn't be here tonight."
Truly the very best of a bad situation.
