I Left My Polydactyl in San Francisco

A baby boy named Kamani Hubbard was born in San Francisco with twenty-four extra digits. That's right, he has six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. Best of all, they're perfectly formed, not the stumpy little things that often appear on those so blessed!

Polydactylism runs in the family. Nobody is terribly concerned about the child's multiple blessings.

A pediatrician at St Luke's hospital, Dr Michael Treece, said: "It's merely an interesting and beautiful variation rather than a worrisome thing. Imagine what sort of a pianist a 12-fingered person would be. Imagine what sort of flamenco guitarist. Think of their typing skills."

I'm thinkin' Dr. Treece is a glass half-full kind of guy. I would have run screaming out of the room.
