New Year, New Laws

Best to know what statutes were enacted in your state effective 1/1/09.
In California, texting while driving is now illegal and if you were planning on bullying on the internet, you should now know that is also against the law.
In Arkansas, a new law banning adoption by unmarried couples has gone into effect. Also unmarried couples cannot become foster parents. What a fabulous idea! Now there will be even fewer people who will be able to give a loving home to children in need.
No smoking in bars in Oregon and no trans fat either. So there, people who don't want to be healthy!
And if you want to take a leak in New Hampshire, don't think you can do it on your front lawn. If you defecate or pee in public you could get $1,000 fine if you knew doing that could affront or alarm someone. Who would not be affronted at a stranger taking a dump in the middle of the street?
To be fair, that NH law was changed because urinating in public fell under indecent exposure laws which might cause the pisser to be prosecuted as a sex offender.
Now said tinkler will just be prosecuted and fined for being a pig.
