Danger, Will Robinson!

The guy who was actually inside the Robot in the classic television series, "Lost in Space" has died at the age of 69 of congestive heart failure.

I did not know this, but Bob didn't do the voice for the robot, he was just the one inside the suit waving his arms around.

Apparently Bob didn't go on to do anything else worth mentioning after his gig as the robot. He and his wife lost their home in a wildfire last November in a mobile home park.

June Lockhart, who played the mom, said, "He was a smoker. From time to time (when he was on a break), we'd see smoke coming out of the robot. That always amused us."

You just don't get laughs like that any more.

I guess his given name was Robert. Why do I wish so much that his nick name was Robbie?
