More information about the woman who had octuplets has come to light.
First of all, she already has six young children at home.
Yes, she underwent fertility treatment.
There's no mention of a husband or even a boyfriend. Apparently she lives with her parents in Whittier, California and they seem to be just as nuts as she is.
Quotes from the octopuslet's grandparents:
"We have a huge house, not here," said the man, who would only identify himself as Ed. "You are never going to know where it is."
Hopefully it's in another country or on another planet.
Suleman said her daughter had embryos implanted last year, and after finding out she was pregnant with multiple babies was given the option by doctors of selectively reducing the number of embryos. The woman declined.
"What do you suggest she should have done? She refused to have them killed," Suleman told the Times. "That is a very painful thing."
Why have embryos implanted? Who is the irresponsible doctor who went along with this idiocy? Or did the woman get a "Do It Yourself" fertility kit at Home Depot?
The medical community has got to get a handle on this craziness. Guys, it's not all about the money.

Apparently, Great Britain recently passed a law where you can only implant one embryo at a time. That seems a bit more sane. Your chance of conceiving are probably not as high, but with so many children without families in this world, IVF seems horribly irresponsible. I feel the medical community has a lot to answer for regarding this. To let a single, bankrupt, mother of six, come to term with eight more children is a complete joke, not that I would want her adopting either.
