Senator Larry Craig of Idaho lost his appeal to withdraw his guilty plea for disorderly conduct. You remember that the Senator got caught in the sting operation cruising for gay sex in the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport bathroom.
Once the story became public, Craig denied any wrongdoing and his attorney claimed the undercover officer misconstrued the Senator's foot tapping and 'wide stance.'
Whatever.
Craig did not resign his senate seat, but did not run for reelection and he will be out of office in January.
He could still take his appeal to the state's Supreme Court, but, really, why bother?
The airport men's room incident effectively ended Craig's political career. He should after January have more time for cruising.
