As you may recall, Plaxico Burress, wide receiver for the NY Giants, shot himself in the thigh last week in the Latin Quarter nightclub.
Well, there are a whole lotta people upset about it, besides me.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg had a major meltdown about the incident. First of all, why wasn't the gunshot wound reported (as it must be by law) by the hospital administration? Secondly, Burress was carrying an unregistered handgun which carries a mandatory 3 1/2 year prison sentence.
And further, why was a grown man wearing sweatpants in a nightclub? That alone should be a misdemeanor.
The NY Giants have suspended Burress for four games, placing him on the non-football injury list, so we won't have to watch him sit on the sidelines with his cap perkily off-kilter.
Will he be back next season? Will he do hard time at Rikers? Stay tuned.

He caught the winning pass in the Super Bowl. As far as I'm concerned he can shoot himself any time he pleases.
He is done with the Giants. I agree, why would you wear sweat pants out to a club?
