Italy's Finance Minister says that Pope Benedict XVI predicted today's economic crisis in 1985 when he was Cardinal Ratzinger.

Cardinal Ratzinger presented a paper called "Market Economy and Ethics" which said that a decline in ethics "can actually cause the laws of the market to collapse."

Yes, Your Holiness. Doesn't take a crystal ball to see that you put a bunch of greedy bastards in positions of power at financial institutions and you're in for trouble.
