Cashing in on a Landslide

Newly elected Grafton County, NH Treasurer
from her Facebook page

Vanessa Sievers, a 20-year-old Dartmouth College student, successfully ran against incumbent county treasurer, Carol Elliott.

Elliott, not terribly gracious in her defeat, blamed her loss on "brainwashed college kids."

"You've got a teenybopper for a treasurer," said Elliott, who has held the position for six years. "I'm concerned for the citizens of Grafton County."

Elliott has never met her opponent, but she has little doubt that Sievers will be unable to fulfill her duties.

Grafton County pays their treasurer a little over $6,000 a year, so it's a safe bet that CFOs from around the country are not running for this office.

One could compare Vanessa's relative inexperience to that of Republican Vice-Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin. Difference being Vanessa won in a Democratic landside, and she does have some bookkeeping experience.

Ooh la la. I'd vote for her to be VICE president.

Get it. Vice. President.

By the way how tall is Sarah Palin?
