Roll the Tape!

This may come as a shock to you but scientists are saying that Scotch tape emits X-rays.

Yup, if you peel the tape off its roll in a vacuum (and who hasn't delighted in doing just that), the tape emits X-rays.

Says Juan Escobar, a graduate student at the University of California, "We were very surprised. The power you could get from just peeling tape was enormous."

I can imagine.

Now of course not many of us use tape in a vacuum, but if you decide to crawl inside the ElectroLux this Christmas to wrap your gifts, you just might be able to get some nice pics of those arthritic knees of yours.
