Will the real Karl Lagerfeld please stand up?
Sometimes a great movie just slips by, but through the magic of Hollywood you manage to catch up with it at a future date.
Such a cinematic feat is "Double Dragon."
Made in 1994, my family and I were able to enjoy this marvelous movie just yesterday. Featuring Robert Patrick as the bad guy, he bore more than a passing resemblance to Karl Lagerfeld, the designer. Perhaps Mr. L didn't make it back for a second casting call?
Although set in a 'futuristic' 2007 Los Angeles, the movie was actually filmed in Cleveland. This shouldn't come as any surprise when you actually see the film.
Geared to kids or closeted homophobes and rated PG-13, the movie has the random expletive thrown in for no apparent reason except to just drop the f-bomb to goose the titter out of the pre-pubescent audience member.
Oh, yeah, the movie is supposed to be a recreation of the video game of the same name, but have no fear ~ it fails.
However, you should not miss this movie! The laughs (at the cast's expense) are fast and furious.
It'd make the perfect stocking stuffer, especially if your stocking is stuffed by Alyssa Milano.
