At first I didn't believe this story, but what the heck, I guess I do now.
The German Shepherd pictured above dialed 911 when his owner had a seizure.
That's what I found hard to believe, but then I read further that Buddy, the dog, has been trained specifically to do just that.
According to reports this is the third time that Buddy has dialed 911 because his owner, Joe Stalnaker, needed help.
My favorite part of the AP story is this:
On a recording of the 911 call Wednesday, Buddy is heard whimpering and barking after the dispatcher answers and repeatedly asks if the caller needs help.
"Hello, this is 911. Hello ... Can you hear me? Is there somebody there you can give the phone to," says the dispatcher, Chris Trott.
One wonders just how long Trott might have been waiting for the dog to start talking.

Certainly amazing, but I vaguely recall Lassie doing that for Timmy 50 years ago after Timmy lost his cell phone.
