Yankee Report Card

Not that Brian Cashman cares, but here's my take on the current active roster. Those on the DL are not included.

Pitchers

Alfredo Aceves
Don’t know anything about this guy.

Chris Britton
Have issues with his pitching. Want to slap him.

Brian Bruney
Slimming down didn't destroy his pitching. Has potential.

Damaso Marte
When he’s good, he’s very, very good, etc.

Mike Mussina
Has had a great year, especially for an old guy.

Carl Pavano
His contract is up this year. Let it be.

Andy Pettitte
Pretty decent year.

Sidney Ponson
Keep him sober.

Edwar Ramirez
Love the glasses.

Darrell Rasner
Thought he was the Savior. I was wrong.

Mariano Rivera
I even forgive him when he blows a game.

Jose Veras
Decent year.

Catchers

Jose Molina
Without him, Yanks would be losing by twice as much. He has a 46% pick-off rate on those trying to steal second.

Ivan Rodriguez
Maybe he needs to put on a few pounds and become Pudge again.

Infielders

Wilson Betemit
Great glasses. He and Edwar must shop at the same place.

Robinson Cano
Stop swinging at the first pitch, Robbie.

Jason Giambi
You can do it! You don't need steroids.

Derek Jeter
I know, I know, he’s the Captain.

Cody Ransom
Is he still batting 1.000?

Alex Rodriguez
Needs meds and/or psych help to stop him from choking in clutch situations.

Outfielders

Bobby Abreu
Yankees, don’t let him go when he’s a free agent. He's a reliable .300 hitter.

Johnny Damon
Always gives 150%.

Brett Gardner
Fast, great base stealer. Trick is to get on base in the first place.

Xavier Nady
Good acquisition. Has blended in seamlessly.

Designated Hitters

Hideki Matsui
Think he really needs that knee surgery.

Great assessment, Moons!

Interesting that those who didn't make the list are the three the Yankees were counting on most before the season started. Hughes, Kennedy and Chamberlain.

If only...

Posada and Wang are not on the list either because they are also on the DL.
