In recent years it seems as if people are unable to venture from their homes or offices without carrying bottled water with them.
Sometimes the bottles of water are replaced with coffee cups.
When did folks decide that it was impossible to leave home without some liquid to maintain their well-being?
In most civilized locales, a drink of water is probably not more than a few minutes away. The chances of dying of thirst while traveling from home to office is probably nil.
Is this post-9/11 mentality? Will having a bottle of water save you should you be caught in a terrorist attack?

Maybe it's because fewer of our moms breast-fed us so we got hooked on the bottle early on. ;)
Thanks for bringing this up, Moons. It drives me absolutely crazy!
And the way they compulsively unscrew the cap, take a sip, and just as compulsively and pretentiously screw it back on. Like they're doing something important.
I remember when water was free.
What's next bottled air?
