Vote Early, Vote Often

According to posts on the AmericanIdol.com website, fans are voting hundreds of times for their favorite contestant.

That's right. Hundreds.

So when Ryan Seacrest says 37 million votes were tallied, rest assured it's not the work of 37 million people. Maybe just thousands, but probably not one person voting 37 million times.

On the one hand it doesn't seem fair to be able to do that, on the other hand, if you're determined enough to try to vote that much, who's to say it's below board?

Should we be able to do that at the polls for a national election?

"Yeah, I really like George Bush, so I voted hundreds of times for him!"

"I spent all day voting for John Kerry. It was exhausting!"

Of course, presidential elections don't stir up the masses to vote like American Idol polling. Maybe if the candidates sang?

I'd vote a hundred times for Haley.

For President.

She's so damned cute.
