American (M)idol

Last night launched the return of American Idol for its sixth season.

Thank God!!

I'd forgotten how much I like the show. The first couple of episodes are the best when we get to hear the worst of the hopefuls audition.

There was some talking on The View today about how cruel it is to tell a fifteen year old that they are totally without talent. Well hey, kids, welcome to the real world where not everyone is your mommy or daddy and will tell you the truth.

If you're going to sign your life away for the chance at a $1,000,000 recording contract, you're going to have to endure some hard bumps on the road of life.

The fact that these people think they are good is frightening. Perhaps they are mentally unstable. That would have to be a definite possibility. But if they don't need psychiatric care, what is their excuse?

And everyone needs to back off from Simon. He is a realist and tells it like it is. As hard as that may be to take.

I like Paula. She's just so darn cute. And that "Straight Up" video, that's the best.
