Making My Screen Crawl

If you have watched television lately, you no doubt have noticed that broadcasters have taken to showing little visuals in the corners of the screen while one is watching a particular program.

I find this disconcerting. I don't want little characters from other programs performing on the edges of the show I'm trying to watch.

Besides people cavorting there are words trailing across the screen.

News programs do this a lot. They run text about local news while national news is airing.

Now that's fine if you're interested, and even if you're not. Problem is no one seems to be proofreading the crawls. Words are often misspelled. Don't they have spellcheckers on their high tech equipment?

I strongly agree. It's akin to a mosquito buzzing about my ear in the middle of the night. I try to swat/kill it without giving it too much attention... but damn eventually it is demanding my full attention. That's when I get the shot gun out and take care of business. No, not the mosquito - the TV. BLAM! No more little cartoons running across the bottom of my TV.
