Support our Troops

I was asked by the mother of a soldier stationed in Iraq to wear red on Fridays to show my support for our troops. Actually, she forwarded the e-mail her child had sent her to me and many other people.

Now here's the problem. I don't want to wear red on Fridays.

The question that begs to be asked is: How does the color I wear on any given day show I support our troops?

In my mind the best way to support our troops is to get them the hell out of Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever else they are. I don't want our kids getting blown up by roadside bombs or shot by "friendly fire."

Osama Bin Laden was not in Iraq. He could be in Miami Beach for all we know. And there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq either. So let's bring the kids home.

I support our troops, but the only reason I would wear red tomorrow is to make the soldier's mother feel better.
