Who Cut the Formaggio?

So apparently the body of the pope was not embalmed but only "prepared" for viewing. Is that something like a French bath?

I can only assume that if in fact he was not embalmed he might be getting a little ripe by now.

Have we heard anything from the viewers? Some look as though they might be covering their noses.

I didn't know that Pope John XXIII has been evicted from his tomb and moved upstairs. Pope John Paul II will move into the empty tomb. John XXIII looks pretty good I hear. For a guy who's been dead for 38 years.

Why are they playing musical graves? Don't they have enough? Couldn't they dig more?

It's so cryptic.

I get it... cryptic

but it reminds me of zen koan i once made up: when is a pun not a pun?

and the answer actually de-koans it because it is very simple and as far away from obtuse as you can get:

a pun is not a pun when the play on words is not a play at all but only a reference to the original meaning of the pun target

eg. cryptic actually does refer to crypt, ie. it is where it gets it's meaning from

but here i have to admit that my explanation is so unwieldy that in the interest of simplex munditis it would be preferable to see that which I attempted to de-pun as a pun in all its pride and glory

so moons, you win again, you sexy thing

I like that..."who cut the formaggio." Is there an abbreviation for big approving smile with a gentle nod of recognition?
