Nightmares

There is obviously nothing more important happening in the world today than the announcement by NBC that they are finally going to yank Jay Leno from the Monday through Friday 10 - 11 pm prime spot. The fact that they committed this faux pas in the first place should be validation enough that they have their heads up their asses.
As near as I can figure, Leno will now be on at 11:35 to be followed by Conan O'Brien at midnight.
Does this mean that Leno has a half hour show?
Maybe not, since the rumors are flying fast and furiously that O'Brien will be telling NBC what to do with their time slot and heading over to Fox.
Jimmy Fallon will be on sometime around 1 am maybe replacing the Sham Wow infomercials.

Jay Being Kicked to the Curb?

There was a rumor floating around (again) that the low-rated Jay Leno travesty, er, show would be cancelled.
NBC quickly denied that vicious gossip.
"Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay’s show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network,” said a network rep.
Hmmm .... compelling .... what does that mean? That if you watch him perform you might be compelled to commit suicide? Or better yet, homicide?
Performed exactly as anticipated ... does that mean they knew it was going to be the worst blunder in the history of prime time television?
And since everyone associated with television is a lying sack of shit anyway, do we believe them?

Leno Keeping His Chin Up

Word comes from Los Angeles that late night host, Jay Leno, drove himself to the hospital Thursday night and sorta checked himself in.
No one's saying what's wrong with him except when he got to the hospital he 'complained of not feeling well.' That narrows it down.
Fear not, he's allegedly cracking jokes with the hospital staff.
Leno will be 59 on Tuesday and has never missed a scheduled day of work in the 17 years he's hosted the Tonight Show.
Possibly he's realized that agreeing to host a five night a week primetime program for NBC later this year is akin to career suicide.
