Funny thing about Freedom of Speech. It permits any asshole to say whatever he or she wants, even when it would be far more prudent for them to keep their pieholes shut.
Take Congressional Representative Doug Lamborn. Please. And tar and feather him while you're at it.
On Talk Radio, which really does press the constraints of common decency, he compared working with President Obama as the equivalent of touching a tar baby. Yes, he did.
Now he's not the first one to mention our current president in the same sentence with the racially charged term "tar baby," and probably won't be the last. However, can we urge our elected officials to actually think before they speak or is rational thought too much to expect from them?
It is worthwhile to note that his district in Colorado is the same one that brought you the closeted meth head pastor, Ted Haggard.
