Irwin Zalkin, attorney representing many San Diego plaintiffs
Get this. 10,000 pages of previously confidential records pertaining to child abuse cases by the San Diego Diocese have been ordered released by a San Diego Supreme Court judge. The Diocese is still trying to keep 2,000 pages secret 'to protect the victims.' Yeah, sure, if the victims are the priests and bishops involved. Oh wait. Most of the predators are dead (and hopefully burning in hell).
The new documents rival those released in Washington and New Hampshire for sheer magnitude. In San Diego, 144 victims sued the Diocese which settled with them for $200 million.
The abuse and the subsequent mishandling of the cases goes back half a century. Can you imagine the volume if there were documents since the time of Constantine?
