There's a Drug for That

I just love stories about things that go on at pharmaceutical companies. The worse, the better. It stems from my basic belief that pharmas couldn't care less about how many patients they kill; it's all about the revenue.

A Novartis saleswoman is suing the corporate giant because she claims her career was ruined after she complained about being raped by a doctor. Imagine! The alleged sexual molestation occurred after a 'golf outing' (that must come under R&D) when the physician offered Marjorie Salame a ride. He didn't mention the ride was going to be on his lap.

Ms. Salame reported the assault to the police who declined to press charges, but she did tell her superiors at Novartis and that put her career in the toilet.

She is part of a $200 million class action suit by female employees who claim that Novartis discriminated against them and ruined their careers if they became pregnant. That's so ridiculous. Don't they make any birth control drugs at the company?
