Hello Dolly!

God, I love America. I love America for a lot of reasons not the least of which is the issuance of a new doll. Okay, rumor is that she was released in January but the news has just reached me.

There's a line of dolls called American Girl manufactured by Mattel (God knows where). I don't know much about them except I think they're a bit pricey at $95. A doll's hairbrush will cost you $7. They have clothes you can buy for them and I think some of them are sort of historical in nature according to the books you can purchase about them.

They've come out with a doll called 'Gwen.' Gwen is allegedly homeless.

Gwen has a friend called 'Chrissa.' You can buy clothes for Chrissa but not for Gwen. There may be a homeless shelter sold separately.

Gwen comes wearing flip flops and a white eyelet dress and I can only hope she's homeless in a warm state 'cause she's going to freeze her little plastic ass off come winter. She comes with a book about Friends, which I understand explains that Gwen's dad ran out on the family and her mother lost her job.

So be sure to take a little girl you love for an event at one of the American Girl places around the country and spend hundreds of dollars for the thrill of getting to know a homeless doll and her entourage.
