Summer of Death Drawing Its Last Breaths

Not much happening except a lot of people are on vacation. Oh, and people are still dropping dead like it's their job. Not just regular folks but famous folks.

Yesterday Ellie Greenwich died. She co-wrote "Leader of the Pack" and some other songs.

Dominick Dunne bit the bullet yesterday too. He wrote stuff too, but not songs.

You probably heard about Teddy Kennedy already and you will keep hearing about him, but not for as long as you'll hear about Michael Jackson.

Yes, it's been quite the deadly summer. Makes you think twice about opening your door before you're sure it's not the Grim Reaper knocking.

No word on when the Summer of Death officially ends. It could be over by Labor Day, but it may push on until the autumnal equinox. I guess it depends on how good business is.

Not that this is really relevant, but I was listening to Coast to Coast the other night, and they were talking about how many people know when their death is approaching. ( This is actually part of the Dahli Lama's teaching) They dream about it or dream about deceased relatives coming to get them. Then people called in to talk about their OWN relatives that this happened to. I didn't call in, but my cousin predicted her own death a few days before it happened...she told her mom that her daddy (who died in a car accident a year earlier) had come to visit her. Eerie, huh?
