Janet Redmond-Mercereau is expected to be indicted for the murder of her husband, New York City Fire Marshal, Douglas Mercereau.
Although her attorney, Mario Galluci, expressed that "even a ham sandwich" could be indicted there is nothing on record to indicate that has ever happened.
Dead guy
Douglas Mercereau was shot three times in the head with his own service revolver as he lay in bed in their Staten Island, NY home last December.
Mrs. Mercereau claims she was asleep in another room with their children at the time of the murder. Ear plugs were discovered which the DA's office claims the mother used to plug her children's ears.
Mercereau's widow allegedly ran the murder weapon through the dishwasher. Even so, female DNA was found on the weapon.
The couple had marital problems in the past.
The couple in happier, thinner days.
Apparently Douglas Mercereau had often teased his wife about her weight gain. He also took her to a firing range to teach her how to shoot a gun.
